A list of thoughts and realizations of the last 8 months
- There will be some days that making all 3 happy at the same time is impossible
- I may have some of the toughest days I could have imagined, but I will also have some of the cutest moments and best days out of anyone I know
- Counting on, trusting, and communicating with Joel all the time on what I need, babies need and Leah and Seth needs is more than important
- Organizing is key to making this house run smoothly
- Hearing "Are they triplets?" (even though it seems pretty obvious) will happen every time we go out in public
- Babies cry and sometimes they just have to wait their turn
- Time with Joel without the children is more important than ever
- From now on, life will always be busy and complicated, but it is well worth it
- Having a third baby was the best decision we ever made
- It takes the kindness of others to help make our lives work with 5 children
- I do not expect others to understand what its like to have triplets unless they have had triplets
- 6 (now 7) year-olds and 3 (now 4) year-olds have a lot to offer to the babies
- Scheduling and routines really do help children adjust to change
- Its impossible to rock each baby to sleep for every nap and bedtime, and they will be OK when it doesn't happen
- Sometimes smiling and nodding is the most polite thing to do when people want to ramble on about what I must go through and give unwanted opinions, or make judgments on our lives
- Always choose sleep over showers...I'd rather be dirty and awake then clean and sleepy
- I do have enough time and energy to show each child that they are loved
- Money will always be an issue, but not the most important one
- Leah and Seth have been more than amazing in this process and have adjusted better than we could have ever predicted
- Joel, Leah, Seth and I are grateful for the addition of these babies to our family and could not imagine our family without them
- Our experience with triplets has brought us closer as a family and made our marriage stronger
- I must be patient with myself in order to have patience with others
- Time goes by way to fast, so enjoy every moment because you never get that moment back
I will end this list with a quote that I have always liked, author unknown:
"No matter what the situation is, good or bad, it will change."
