Here are some details that everyone wants to know first....last ultrasound 9 days ago...here are the stats on each baby:
Ally - still growing and looks healthy as can be - she was 2 lbs 13 oz. - in the 43% for a singleton baby
Emmy - NO KIDNEY REFLUX! All signs of kidney issues has disappeared and it was corrected! She was 2 lbs 15 oz - in the 45% for a singleton baby
Izzy - Still shy as could be and made it hard to measure (is she going to be the difficult child?) She was 2 lbs 13 oz - in the 42% for a singleton baby
COMBINED BABY WEIGHT 9 days ago: 8 lbs 9 oz!!!! Now, I would estimate each are over 3 lbs plus a few oz each! That's a lot of baby in my belly!
The percentages are based on singletons, not triplets. Apparently triplets are expected to grow 100mgs each (or something like that) in 2-3 weeks. My girls are growing 300 mgs each in that same time frame. So for all three to being growing at such a similar rate and just now falling below the 50% for a singleton is, well, amazing. To give you an idea of how amazing it is that all are so healthy and strong, our doctor turned to us and said, "I've been in the maternal fetal specialist field for a long time and I have NEVER seen a set of triplets look and grow this good." So not only did Joel and I randomly create three baby girls, they appear to be as healthy as can be. The girls (and me!) are beating all sorts of odds. I am feeling good about all of this and have hopes that we will be bringing all girls home with us from the hospital!
I also have started on the diabetes diet. So far so good. My A1C (which averages my blood sugar levels from the past 90 days, I think) is within range. My fasting sugars will be the challenge, but I think controllable for a while. My meals/snacks can be controlled from what I see with my blood sugar readings. I have to start my day with a glass of milk, followed by breakfast, snack time, lunch, two afternoon snacks, dinner and 2 snacks before bed. I have to eat more because there are three babies. I am allowed a few more carbs than I was when it was just one baby. I am going to try to stay off insulin as long as possible. It may be in my future regardless though.
I have seen my OB twice since I wrote last since I go weekly now. Last week I measured at 36 weeks. This week I measured 39.5 weeks! Everything still checks out normal. There is still no reason to believe I will go earlier than a scheduled date...which has been scheduled!!!!
Our scheduled C-Section is FRIDAY, DECEMBER 17th. This gets me to 35 weeks, 5 days. So unless the babies have a different plan, I have 5 weeks from this Friday!!!! WOW! It is almost GO time!
